Raspberry Suite Color Challenge Week 6

Thursday, May 21, 2009
This week I am participating in my first Raspberry Suite Challenge - see here. I really struggled with this one - probably doesn't help that it is midnight!!

Here is my contribution - not as lovely as a lot of the others I have viewed, but hopefully my inspiration will come back in the next challenges. Used the Hero Arts windy tree and lots of blingy flowers!

Hero Arts Dots Challenge

Saturday, May 16, 2009
Finally sat down tonight to do my contribution to the Hero Arts Dots Challenge - here.

I have one again turned to my favourite of the Four Stylish Owls stamps. He is so cute, and was crying out to be stamped and embellished. This set is so versatile as the images are a perfect size to be used for a focal point on a card.

I am also loving the slider cards that I am now getting very quick at making. So simple!! Here I have used silver Bazzil Bling (I think it is white, but looks silverish), and Kaisercraft blue droplets on the owl's tummy, as well as blue Kindy Glitz.

Here is the inside of the card. I haven't stamped a sentiment on it yet, as I don't want to limit myself for what he can be used for. I think a hello, or thank you card would be good.

Anyway it is now 12.39am and I really should be going to be. It is my son's 4th birthday on Sunday and we are having a party tomorrow at 10am at a local indoor play centre. With a superhero theme, it is sure to be very active and tiring!! Wish me luck and stamina!! lol!

Some Baby Cards

Tuesday, May 12, 2009
A friend asked me to do her a few baby cards to keep on hand, so tonight I made 2 for her.

I am also going to use the one below in the Caardvarks Quote challenge - here. I found the beautiful quote online, but I do not know who the author is - it just said "unknown".

(Hero Arts - B5004 - Awww)

(HA B047 - Baby Handprints, B1022 - Baby Feet, LL254 Sweet Baby sentiment)

This one was very quick to make but I think it came up well. Love these HA stamps with the feet and hands that I purchased off Ebay - gotta love a bargain!!

Fun with Cards

Saturday, May 9, 2009
I have discovered a great blog by Dawn Griffiths over at Dawn's Stamping Thoughts - here. She has some great inspirational videos on You Tube with really fun cards - cards that open up, slide, etc.

It has inspired me to try a few cards - one a slider card, which I had seen before but had not tried, and the other is a flap card.

The first one below is the slider card. I used Hero Arts Bear Stamp F5170 - which is now my favourite stamp. I really am beginning to love the woodblock stamps now - preferring them over the clear stamps. The rubber on the woodblock stamps gives such a crisp image.

Below is the card opened up, I think I must have slid it open about 50 times already, and my husband thinks I am crazy!!! I was just so excited that it worked. And it is so easy to make too. That is the great thing about most of these fun cards - they look tricky but once you have made one, you see how easy it really is.

The next card has two flaps which open up to reveal the inside of the card. Here I used one of the Hero Arts Four Stylish Owls. They are so cute and a great size too.
