Using Vellum

Tuesday, July 26, 2011
I am doing a card class at Create On Garden this week, and I decided to use Vellum as my inspiration.

The first card I used Hero Arts stamp, stamped with versamark ink and used white embossing powder and heat set.

The second card I ran the vellum through the Cuttlebug embossing folder, then used Tim Holtz distress inks to paint the embossed image.

Centre Step Card

I saw this great tutorial over on Splicoast Stampers and had a go. Easy to make but really effective and striking. I love how it is really solid in the way it stands up.

I used the "Friends" background stamp from Hero Arts, and the flower stamp is from Penny Black - 3818J - Wind Caressed. I coloured with pencils then used glossy accents on the petals of the flowers. Paper is from Kaisercraft.

Baby Boy Card

I am still making lots of baby cards - I sell them at the hospital I work at in the little coffee shop, where people buy their teddies and balloons for new additions to the family. I am constantly restocking which is really nice. It is always nice to think people appreciate a hand made card.

This card is 4 x 4 inches. I used the Papertrey Ink set "Bitty Baby Blessings" for the boat image. I paper pieced the sail and hull. The greeting is from another Papertrey Ink set "Inside & Out: Baby". The check blue paper was from October Afternoon "Ducks in a Row" collection.

Birthday Girl

Made this card awhile ago but I have been having so much trouble with my internet connection I haven't uploaded anything for ages. We live out on a farm and have no home phone, so using a plug in internet connection and don't really get the best signal at the best of times.

For this card I used a fantastic A La Mode stamp "Birthday Girl" from My Favourite Things Stamps. I used paper from the Bo Bunny "Peacock Lane" Collection. I paper pieced her dress and the paper cupcake patty and used glossy accents and glitter on the cake's icing.
Here is a close up of the image. I coloured her in with Copics.
