SPCC Christmas Combo #4

Sunday, September 27, 2009

Sam over at SPCC has been putting together some fantastic inspirational Christmas colour combos to inspire you to get started on all those Christmas cards that need to be done - it is only 12 weeks until Christmas!!! Scary I know!. So here are this week's colours.

And here is my card. I used the fabulous new stamps from Hero Arts CL357 Holiday Dolls. The Christmas Paper is from Cosmo Cricket's new Jolly By Golly range - I used paper from their 6x6 pad. Buttons are from Daisyd's Tiny Treasures, and other paper from Bo Bunny and Bazzil. The ribbon is from Martha Stewart's range - Walnut.

More Christmas Cards

Tuesday, September 22, 2009
I have been designing some more Christmas cards for my card classes at Create on Garden. Got my hands on some of the gorgeous new Hero Arts stamps, and here is the cards I will teach.

For this first card I used the HA Wooden stamp K5260 - Three Penguins, and cute the penguins out. Then I coloured in with Copic Markers and cut the card stock to look like 2 snow covered hills, to create 2 flaps that open up. I used  the snow flake stamps from HA CL357 - Holiday Dolls. I stamped with a glue pad and then sprinked over glitter.

For this next card I used my old faithful HA Holly Flourish background stamp, and stamped it with Green ink onto white cardstock. Then I used red pearls from Kaisercraft for the holly berries. The ribbon is also from Kaisercraft. The red button I think is from Basic Grey. For the sentiment I used the Hero Arts set CL354 Let the Angels Sing. I cut the sentiment in half so that it is easier to play around with.

For my third card I wanted it to be all about the stamped images and used the super cute HA Cl354 let the Angles Sing set. I glittered the wings (of course) and colour in with watercolour pencils. The images are so cute and really do not need much added to them.

SPCC #16

Up to number 16 already at SPCC - WOW! Everyone's contributions have been fantastic - I am amazed at the creations everyone comes up with each week. So this week the colours are set out below - great colours - could go really well for a Christmas feel too.

Our sponsor this week is Such Sweet Tierney, who designs her own hand painted buttons.

And here is my card. I think the button is one from a Basic Grey set, the ribbon is from Martha Stewart, I used the swiss dots cuttlebug folder on the aqua paper and then used the Fiskars threading water edge punch. The patterned paper is from Kraft Cuts - Fancy Paper. The Birthday sentiment is from Hero Arts Set CL139 Birthday Messages.

I loved these colours and the paper so much I also did a second card!

My First Hero Arts Challenge Win!!

Thursday, September 10, 2009
I am so excited to have been picked as the fresh face winner on the Hero Arts Blog for last weeks "manweek" challenge. I feel so honoured - I always ooohh and aaahh over all the winner's work and so it was a huge surprise to open up the Hero Arts Blog today and see my card front and centre.

Thankyou for all the lovely comments on Flickr too.

For this card I used HA CL335 - Happy Dad's Day and also the woodgrain background stamp.

Father's Day 2009

Tuesday, September 8, 2009
This is the card that I made on behalf of my 4 year old son for Daddy. I was so excited to receive the My Cute Stamps set (Eeek! A Monster!) set in the mail the other day, and was itching to break it out. This seemed the perfect occasion. I hand wrote "from your little monster!" under the greeting.

The Happy Father's Day came from Hero Arts set CL335 - Happy Dad's Day.

SPCC #14 - More monsters.

I swear that the weeks are flying by quicker and quicker. No sooner has my last post for SPCC been added then it is time for another on - even though they are only every 2 weeks. This week is a great colour combo for cards for all those men in our lives. I am really enjoying making masculine cards at the moment, love the blues, browns, greys, greens etc that always seem to go into the cards I make for men.

So this week over at SPCC - come and play along with these fabulous colours!

Here is my little monster card - I loved making this card sooo much. As I have a 4 year old son, I am always adding to my stamp sets with boy orientated stamps - monsters, aliens, rockets, trains, trucks, cars etc. This is a cool stamp set from October Afternoon - Night Light Clear Stamps - ST-345. The sentiment is from Hero Arts - Happiness Messages - CL148.

Cute little Monster.

Monday, September 7, 2009
I have recently purchased a few monster stamp sets, particularly for my son Riley, who love to colour in the stamped images. This fab set is from October Afternoon - Night Light set. I did this card for a friend who was in quite a bad motorbike accident. So I wrapped the little monster's leg in a tiny piece of bandage!
